Bernie has over 17 years of experience in global recruitment, having worked in the UK, Europe and, most notably, Asia. In 2001 Bernie relocated from London to Tokyo to establish a recruitment agency called James Harvard International. James Harvard International grew to become the largest and most respected IT/Finance recruitment company in Japan. As the first foreign company to launch a successful RPO business in Japan, James Harvard were the pioneers of a previously unfamiliar concept in the Japanese recruitment industry.
In February 2007, Bernie sold the James Harvard International Japanese business to global recruitment giants Hays PLC. Bernie successfully completed his earn-out in December 2009 as Managing Director of Hays Japan.
Throughout his years as a recruitment industry leader in Japan, Bernie recognised the need for a simple applicant tracking system. He knew, first-hand , that it was time for a system that was intuitive and tailored to the needs of users in Asia. Post earn-out, Bernie began working on his next project in earnest... and after almost two years of design, development and sweat...HiringBoss has arrived.
As Sales Director, Matt is the driving force behind our committment to excellence in client services. Originally from Adelaide, South Australia, Matt relocated to Singapore in 2008 and has extensive experience in the Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Vietnam markets. Matt´s background is rooted in internet businesses.
Prior to joining HiringBoss, Matt spent 2 years at senior management level with Iproperty.com, one of Asia’s true internet success stories. Matt was instrumental in seeing the business grow at amazing rates and become a clear market leader. Before relocating to Asia, Matt was a key member of the management team for Australia and New Zealand’s top commercial property portal, creating and managing relationships with key clients during a crucial period of the businesses success.
Mitsuhiro Oikawa heads up HiringBoss in Japan, leading the sales team from our Tokyo office. He brings 25 years experience in the IT industry, with expertise in the internet and software fields...specifically Saas.
Prior to joining Hiringboss, Mitsuhiro held Japan Country Manager positions at Proteon, Xylan, and Alcatel Internetworking. He has a wealth of experience in working with growing businesses, making him the perfect fit to spearhead HiringBoss's penetration of the domestic market in Japan.
